Polymer viscosity

WebThe purpose of this study was to obtain reliable extensional viscosity measurements for dilute polymer solutions using a filament-stretching rheometer at the University of Toronto. Initial extensional measurements of two Newtonian fluids gave data very close to the expected values, which validated the experimental technique.

WebIn polymer chemistry, the molar mass distribution (or molecular weight distribution) describes the relationship between the number of moles of each polymer species (N i) and the molar mass (M i) of that species. In linear polymers, the individual polymer chains rarely have exactly the same degree of polymerization and molar mass, and there is always a … WebPolymer viscosity is affected by water salinity and divalent ions such as calcium (Ca 2+) and magnesium (Mg 2+ ), which decrease the viscosity of the polymer solution.
